Drytech heat pump dryers use for drying herb:

If grow your own herb, chances are you won’t be able to use all of the herb your garden is producing before they go bad. That’s where drying comes in! Drying is probably the oldest and simplest method of preserving foods, and is very easy to do, especially when you use your Drytech heat pump dryer. Here’s how you do it.

What You Need to Know Before You Start

The major drawback to drying herb in the inside of drying machine is limited space. You can generally dry about 400KGS to 3500KGS of herb at a time(different model with different drying capacity), and the only additional items you’ll need some trolleys and trays, put herb on the trays then put the trolleys into drying chamber, when everything finished, then set drying temperature, you need to keep that between 45 to 60 Celsius degree. and set finally humidity, when drying chamber's humidity down to set value, the heat pump dryer will be stop working.

Heat pump dryers use for drying isn’t difficult, but it requires some finessing to settle at the proper temperature. You may need to do some fiddling with the temperature control until you hit on just the right setting. Do this part of the preparation work before you commit herb to the drying machine.

Air circulation is essential to getting a good product, so you’ll need trays made with wood slats or stainless steel screening. Cookie sheets and other solid trays aren’t suitable because they block the hot air flow.

Step 1
Harvest the herb when mature but before they’ve begun to flower, as the flowering takes strength from the leaves. The most potent leaves are found at the ends of the stems, and they decrease in strength as you get closer to the stem.

Step 2
Throw away any discolored or dead leaves. Remove the leaves from the stems and place in a single layer on each tray and place each tray on a trolley. Be sure there’s room for the air to circulate around each leaf. Place the racks in the drying chamber.

Step 3
Set drying temperature as 45 to 60 Celsius degree, drying time as 7-8 hours and humidity as 10% according to operating manual.

Step 4
Once you’ve got everything nicely settled, press ON/OFF to start the drying machine.

Step 5
When the timer buzzes, open the door to chech everywhere's herb, if some corner's herb not so dry, please rotate the racks. Move each rack down one space and put the bottom rack on the top. Reset the timer. Each time you check you repeat this process so that every rack will have equal time. This will correct for any temperature differences inside the drying chamber. usually, you need to do nothing, every corner almost are the same.

Step 6
Repeat step 4 until the herb are completely dried, about 2 to 4 hours (times vary depending on the herb).
